We have four 40-minute pilot episode scripts written for this original stand-up comedy competition reality show.
Introducing Funny By Sundown.
Two comedians.
One topic.
No time to lose.
In Funny By Sundown, two comedians have one day to create their stand-up routines, before they perform back-to-back that night before guest judges and a live audience.
The show follows them the entire day, capturing all of the pressure and anxiety.
So when someone says she’s got a quick wit, we find out just how quick.
They have to pretty fast on their feet, on a topic that’s a mystery to them until that very morning’s sunrise.
Anything from Pet Peeves to Teenage CEOs to Steve Jobs Meets Steve Unemployment. Our first four:
Shopping For Adult Toys With Your Mother. Chinese Fortunes. Dreams of Being Naked in Public. Plumber’s Crack.
Funny By Sundown also provides numerous opportunities for sponsorships, integrated branding, and product placement.
An additional promotional objective of the series is to have a corresponding website that features deals on products and services that expire by midnight.
(So customers save Munny By Sundown.)
The intro to Plumber’s Crack:
EXT. CHICAGO’S WEST SIDE — A BUILDING USED AS A CRACK HOUSE — 7:30AM
COMEDIAN JOE L., as a plumber, pulls up in front in a van that reads “Joe’s Plumbing.”
He encounters a group of GANG MEMBERS/DRUG DEALERS.
JOE
Hi, fellas. I’m looking for the house with a cracked pipe?
DEALER (suspicious)
Say what? You lookin’ for a crack pipe?
JOE
That’s correct. I need to fix it.
GANG LEADER
A fix? Ain’t no crack here.
Joe looks at his work orders for the day.
JOE
Says here “house with cracked pipe.” Can’t make out the address, though.
The Gang Leader pulls out a gun and points it directly at Joe’s face.
GANG LEADER
Said ain’t no crack here. Now get yo candy white ass gone, or you’ll be seein’ the inside of a wooden box, muthafu...
